Spicy BBQ Steak

Ingredients

400g Bavette or Hanger steak

1 tbsp olive oil

1–2 tbsp Thai BBQ sauce (plus more for serving)

½ tbsp soy sauce

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Marinate the Steak:
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, soy sauce, and freshly ground black pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over the steak. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes at room temperature (or longer in the fridge if desired).

2. Preheat the Grill:
Heat your grill or grill pan to medium heat.

3. Grill the Steak:
Place the marinated steak on the grill. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, depending on thickness and your preferred doneness.

4. Add BBQ Flavor:
During the last minute or two of cooking, brush the steak on both sides with the Thai BBQ sauce.

5. Rest and Serve:
Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve with additional Thai BBQ sauce on the side.
